Description:

CSCMP kicks off its 2009-2010 Roundtable events with an in depth look at the Economy and its impact on Logistics.  Dr. Bill LaFayette will speak. Bill is vice president of economic analysis for the Columbus Chamber.

As the Chamber’s chief economist, he analyzes and interprets economic and demographic trends for Chamber staff, civic leaders, and the Greater Columbus community, and helps determine the implications of those trends for policy formation within the Chamber and in the broader community.

Prior to joining the Chamber in 1999, Dr. LaFayette worked for Rickenbacker Port Authority, and served on the finance and real estate faculties of Ashland University and the University of North Texas. More recently, he has been an adjunct faculty member of the Capital University School of Management and The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business.

Dan Ricciardi, Executive Director, of the Columbus Regional Logistics Council (CRLC) will also update the roundtable on the activities of the Council and its positive impact on Central Ohio’s Logistics Roadmap.

The region’s logistics growth strategy focuses on four key areas: foster a logistics-friendly business environment; continue to develop and enhance advanced logistics infrastructure; infuse world-class logistics technology into regional industry; and build a high-skill workforce for competitive advantage.
