Speaker Bios:

REBECCA HURST

Director of Distribution

Wendy’s Quality Supply Chain Co-Op (QSCC)

Oversee distribution operations for all 23 third-party distribution centers across the United States, which service almost 6,000 Wendy’s restaurants.  Direct the development and execution of all distribution contracts / RFPs, ensure comliance to aggressive DC service standards, and support the implentation of new, promotional, and test items for the Wendy’s system. Prior experience includes oversight of domestic and international supply chain operations for Ruby Tuesday, a casual dining chain with almost 1000 restaurants worldwide, as well as fleet management and driver operations management for Dollar General and YRCW.  Rebecca has a BS in Logistics & Transportation from the University of Tennessee, and an MBA from Middle Tennessee State.

 

KATE SCOTT

Director of Logistics

Wendy’s Quality Supply Chain Co-Op (QSCC)

Responsible for the inbound freight program between suppliers and distributors.  Manage third-party logistics services including contracting, network optimization and performance management. Develop and implement programs to reduce delivered pricing by lowering freight expenses and other logistics costs.  Lead indirect cost control projects including government relations, alternate fuel initiatives and diesel risk management program development.  Past experience includes Marketing, Program Management and Distribution for Wendy’s, as well as Inventory / Global Logistics Analyst for IBM.  Kate has a BS in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State, and an MBA from Penn State.

 

KEITH RIEGLE

VP of Procurement and Logistics

SYGMA

SYGMA is Wendy’s largest distributor with approximately 60% of the distribution business.  Keith has been in Procurement and Logistics for SYGMA for 11 years, working to help source and transport the over 600 skus to the 12 DCs in the Wendy’s system (7,200 total). Prior to SYGMA, he spent 16 years with Unisource Columbus, most recently as the Director of Purchasing. He has been in the distribution business for 27 years, and has spent the last 11 in food service.
